What We Do
DKMS is an international non-profit organization, dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and other blood disorders, that has become the global leader in providing life-saving stem cell donations. With offices in seven countries across five continents, DKMS has registered over 11.5 million potential donors and given more than 100,000 patients across the globe a second chance at life. DKMS also works to ensure more patients have access to transplantation, by expanding the scope of our activities beyond the registration of potential blood stem cell donors. Specifically, we aim to support patients whose geographic location or socio-economic status impedes their access to transplantation by offering aid through a variety of programs, such as free HLA typing, Patient Funding, and Capacity Building. Furthermore, DKMS operates the Life Science Lab, which carries out HLA typing according to the latest scientific standards and conducts unrelated and related donor searches for patients around the world.
